Alright, so I wanted to play Remnant 2 with my buddy, but here’s the deal – I’m on PC Game Pass, and he’s rocking it on his Xbox Series X. We were like, “Can we even do this? Is crossplay a thing?” Turns out, it is, but it wasn’t super obvious how to get it all working, so I figured I’d share what I did.

Getting Started
First, I made sure my Xbox app on PC was up-to-date. I just opened it up and let it do its thing. Then, I checked if Remnant 2 itself had any updates. You know, gotta have the latest version for everything to play nice.
Making the Connection
Next, I fired up Remnant 2. My friend did the same on his Xbox. Now, here’s where it got a little less intuitive. There is not really a clear “invite friend” button for cross-platform play at the main menu, or at least it wasn’t apparent.
- I loaded into my game, got to a World Stone.
- My friend, also at a World Stone, went to “Join Game”.
- In the friends section, I saw his gamertag, and he appeared there too.
Important Note: It seems like you both have to be in the game, at a World Stone, for the crossplay invite to actually work. We tried a few times from the main menu, and it just didn’t connect.
The Results?
Boom! We were in! We were running around, blasting baddies, and having a grand old time. Voice chat worked perfectly through the Xbox party system, which was a relief. I will test with other platform to see whether can work or not next week.
So, yeah, Remnant 2 crossplay between PC Game Pass and Xbox is totally doable. It just takes a little bit of figuring out. Hopefully, this helps someone else skip the initial confusion and get straight to the monster-slaying action!
