Okay, so I got kinda obsessed with the whole Fiend and Uncle Howdy storyline. You know how it is with wrestling stories, sometimes they get messy, characters pop up, disappear, then maybe come back different. Bray Wyatt’s stuff? Especially complex. I figured I needed to sort it out for myself, make sense of when things happened.

Getting Started – The Mess
First thing I did was just try to remember the big moments off the top of my head. The Firefly Fun House, The Fiend’s debut, the red light, all that jazz. But memory plays tricks, right? So, I knew I had to go back and actually watch the stuff. Pulled up a bunch of old Raws and Smackdowns, pay-per-views too. Basically, any show where Bray Wyatt or anyone connected might have appeared after he reinvented himself.
I started jotting down notes. Just rough dates and what happened. Like:
- Fiend debuts, attacks Finn Balor.
- Wins Universal Title.
- Loses title weirdly to Goldberg (still mad about that).
- Feud with Orton, the burning thing.
It was a real jumble at first. Just a list of events, no clear line connecting everything perfectly.
Enter Uncle Howdy – More Confusion
Then came the whole “White Rabbit” mystery leading to Bray’s return at Extreme Rules. That was cool. But then this Uncle Howdy character started showing up. Who was this guy? Was it Bray? Was it someone else? The spooky videos, the interruptions, the weird hat. It added a whole new layer I needed to track.
So, back to the notes. I started a separate section just for Uncle Howdy appearances. When did he first appear on screen? When was he just a voice or a video package? I tried matching his appearances with what Bray was doing or saying at the time. It was tough. Seriously, trying to figure out their relationship based on cryptic promos and weird stares… not easy.
I remember spending a good chunk of time rewatching the segments with Howdy and Bray, then Howdy and Alexa Bliss, trying to catch any clues. Was Howdy controlling Bray? Was he a figment of his imagination? Was he someone else entirely, maybe Bo Dallas like everyone guessed? I wrote down all the theories I had, even the crazy ones.
Putting it Together (Sort Of)
After gathering all these bits and pieces, I needed to put them in order. I used a simple document, just listing dates chronologically. Started with the first Firefly Fun House vignettes, then The Fiend’s run, his disappearance, the return, and then weaving in the Uncle Howdy stuff where it happened.
The key events I focused on were:
- Key Fiend matches and moments.
- Bray Wyatt’s return and character shifts.
- Every single Uncle Howdy appearance or mention.
- Howdy’s interactions with other wrestlers like Alexa Bliss and Bobby Lashley (even though that feud kinda fizzled).
I read through it a few times. Moved things around if I got the dates wrong. Added little notes like “Howdy confronts Bray” or “Mysterious logo appears”. It started looking more like a proper timeline, something you could actually follow. Of course, Bray’s tragic passing put an indefinite pause on everything, leaving a lot of questions unanswered. That part’s sad, and it means the timeline just… stops. But documenting what did happen felt like a good way to appreciate the story he was trying to tell.
So yeah, that was my process. Lots of watching old shows, taking messy notes, and trying my best to make sense of one of the most unique, confusing, and fascinating storylines wrestling’s seen in a long time. It’s still not perfectly clear, but having that timeline helps keep track of the journey.
