Alright, so I finally got my hands on the deluxe edition of NCAA 25. It felt like waiting ages for this thing to drop.

You know, I almost didn’t bother with the deluxe. Usually, I just grab the standard version of games. But this one… well, it’s been a long time coming. Reminded me of waiting for my kid’s school bus back when he first started kindergarten. Felt that same kind of impatient excitement. College football games were always my jam, spent way too many nights playing the old ones until 3 AM when I should’ve been sleeping before my early shift at the plant.
Getting it Going
So, the process. I pre-ordered it online, simple enough. Just clicked the buttons, paid the extra for the deluxe. Then came the wait. Download day finally arrived. Let me tell you, my internet connection chugged along. Took a good couple of hours just to get the main files down. Felt like watching paint dry.
Once it was finally downloaded, I started the installation. That went a bit quicker, thankfully. Booted it up straight away. Had to sit through the usual intro stuff, logos, agreements, all that jazz. Just wanted to get into the game, you know?
Checking Out the Goods
First thing I did? Dive straight into the menus to see what this ‘deluxe’ part actually gave me. Usually it’s stuff like:
- Extra points for whatever ultimate team mode they have.
- Some special uniforms or player items.
- Maybe early access, though I downloaded it on release day anyway.
Found the bonus points easily enough. Claimed those right away for my team building thing. Then I scrolled through the uniform options. Found the throwback ones they advertised for my favorite team. Pretty neat, gotta admit. It’s the little things sometimes.
Spent about an hour just poking around in the menus, setting up my profile, checking out the different modes. Wanted to see if the deluxe content felt tacked on or actually useful. The extra points definitely give you a bit of a head start in that card-collecting mode, which is nice ’cause grinding can be a real chore.
Played a quick exhibition game just to get a feel for it. The presentation is slick, definitely looks next-gen compared to the old NCAA games I remember. Controls felt familiar, which was good. Didn’t have to relearn everything from scratch. Felt like slipping back into old, comfortable shoes.
So yeah, that was my first night. Got it downloaded, installed, checked out the deluxe bonuses, and played a quick match. Still got a lot to explore, especially starting a Dynasty mode, which is the main reason I bought it. But so far, feels good to have college football back. The deluxe stuff? It’s okay, mostly starter packs and cosmetics. Time will tell if it was really worth the extra bucks, but hey, I’m playing the game.
