Alright, here’s my take on a PUBG weapons tier list, based on my own messy, often frustrating, but ultimately fun experiences.

So, I decided to dive deep into figuring out which guns in PUBG are actually worth grabbing. You know, when you drop in and have like, 0.5 seconds to decide if that UMP is gonna save your life or get you killed. This isn’t some super pro-gamer analysis, just my personal findings from countless hours of playing and getting owned.
First off, the god-tier weapons.
- AWM: Okay, this one’s obvious. If you find an AWM, you’re basically set. One shot, one kill. End of story. I remember one game where I found one early on and just camped a tower. People kept running into my shots. Felt like cheating, but hey, gotta use what you find, right? The bullet velocity is insane, I mean, who wouldn’t want it?
Next up, the solid choices – the ones you’re happy to run with.
- M416: Reliable, customizable, and shreds people at medium range. I’ve clutched so many games with this thing. It’s my go-to for a reason. Remember one time I was in a 1v3 situation, and just sprayed down the whole squad with a fully kitted M416? Good times.
- SCAR-L: Similar to the M416, but a bit easier to control recoil. Great for newer players, or when you just want something that’s easy to handle. I’ve seen a lot of people sleep on this gun, but honestly, it’s a beast in the right hands.
- Mini14: A fantastic DMR. Fast fire rate, good accuracy, and you can spam shots like crazy. I’ve gotten so many cheeky kills with this thing just by constantly firing at people from a distance.
Then we have the situational weapons – good in certain scenarios, but not always the best.
- UMP45: Great early game when everyone’s scrambling for weapons. I’ve won plenty of early fights with just a UMP. It’s got a decent fire rate and is pretty easy to control. I recall dropping into Pecado in Miramar and clearing out the entire boxing ring with just a UMP. Absolute chaos, but effective.
- Vector: Melts people up close, but runs out of ammo faster than you can blink. If you can manage the ammo, it’s a beast in close-quarters combat.
- SKS: A decent DMR, but takes some skill to use effectively. The recoil can be a pain, but if you can master it, it’s a solid choice. I’ve had some frustrating moments trying to learn the SKS.
Finally, the ones you usually avoid unless you have no other option.
- P92: Seriously, why is this even in the game? I’d rather fight with my fists.
- R45: Slightly better than the P92, but still not great. If you’re desperate, it’ll do, but try to find something better ASAP.
A few extra thoughts:
Attachments make a HUGE difference. A compensator on an M416 can turn it into a laser beam. A good scope can make even a mediocre weapon viable at long range.
Don’t be afraid to experiment. Just because a weapon is “low tier” doesn’t mean you can’t be effective with it. Sometimes, it’s all about playstyle and personal preference.

And most importantly, have fun! It’s just a game, after all. Even when you’re getting wrecked by someone with an AWM.
This is just my personal opinion, of course. Your mileage may vary. Let me know what your favorite weapons are in the comments!
