Okay, so today I wanna chat about my 2024 dynasty league and my guy Kendre Miller. I’ve been messing around with dynasty leagues for a few years now, and I’m always looking for that edge, you know?

The Setup: I’m in a 12-team, PPR (points per reception) league. We start 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 TE, and a flex (RB/WR/TE). So, it’s pretty standard. I’d been rebuilding for a couple of seasons, stockpiling picks, and trying to get younger. My running back situation was… rough. Hence, Kendre.
Why Kendre? Okay, so last year’s rookie draft. I had the 1.06 pick. Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs were obviously gone. I was torn between JSN (Jaxon Smith-Njigba) and Kendre. WR is always valuable, but my RB room was a wasteland. I watched a ton of tape on Kendre, liked his power and his ability to catch out of the backfield, and the Saints backfield looked like it could open up sooner rather than later.
The Draft: I went with Kendre. Some people thought it was a reach, but honestly, in dynasty, you gotta go with your gut sometimes. Plus, I had another pick later where I snagged a decent WR prospect, so I wasn’t totally leaving myself high and dry at receiver.
The Season: Let’s be real, Kendre’s 2023 season wasn’t amazing. He was hurt for a bit, and even when he was healthy, he was behind Jamaal Williams and Alvin Kamara. It was frustrating. I was sitting there with a supposed “future” at RB who was barely touching the field. I started to question my pick, big time.
Offseason Moves: Okay, so this is where things get interesting. The Saints cut Jamaal Williams. Kamara is getting older, and there’s always talk about him maybe getting traded or released at some point. Suddenly, Kendre’s path to touches looks a lot clearer. I went out and grabbed some low-cost insurance in free agency just in case, but I’m feeling way better about my Kendre investment now.
My Strategy for 2024: I’m holding Kendre. I’m not trying to trade him unless someone offers me something crazy. I wanna see what he can do with an increased workload. Even if Kamara is still there, Kendre should get more opportunities. I’m hoping for a breakout year, or at least a solid RB2 performance.
- Keep Expectations in Check: Dynasty is a marathon, not a sprint. One bad season doesn’t make a player a bust.
- Monitor the Saints: I’ll be watching their training camp and preseason games closely. If they bring in another RB, that could change things.
- Patience is Key: Rome wasn’t built in a day. Neither are dynasty teams.
The Wrap-Up: Dynasty is all about taking risks and being patient. I took a risk on Kendre Miller, and while it didn’t pay off immediately, I still believe in his potential. I’m excited to see what he can do in 2024. Fingers crossed!
