My Crossword Session Today
Okay, so I decided to tackle the New York Times crossword this morning. Grabbed my coffee, sat down, and fired up the app. Some days you just feel ready for it, you know? Today felt like one of those days.

I started off, as usual, scanning the Across clues first. Found a few easy ones right away, those short three or four-letter words you can often guess quickly. Filled those in. That always gives me a good starting point, gets some letters on the grid.
Then I moved onto the Downs, using the letters I already had. This is where things started clicking today. One Down clue immediately helped me solve a tricky Across one I’d skipped over. It felt like a domino effect. I’d get one answer, and it would instantly unlock two or three others around it.
There was this one section, I think it was the middle-east side of the grid, that looked really tough at first glance. The clues seemed weird, kinda vague. I stared at it for a minute, tried a few things in my head, nothing fit. So I skipped it and worked on other parts.
- Focused on the corners first.
- Worked my way inwards from there.
- Kept jumping between Across and Down clues.
Came back to that tricky middle section later. By then, I had way more crossing letters filled in. And suddenly, the clues made sense! It wasn’t that they were that hard, I just needed more context from the other words. Managed to fill that whole section in maybe two minutes flat. That felt brilliant, honestly. Like my brain just suddenly understood the puzzle’s wavelength.
Finishing Up
After breaking through that tough spot, the rest felt like a breeze. I was just filling answers in one after another. Didn’t even need to look up anything or ask for hints, which doesn’t happen every day, let me tell you.
Got the little “Congratulations!” pop-up way faster than usual. Looked over the completed grid. Yeah, felt really good about that one. Sometimes the crossword feels like a fight, a real struggle. But today? Today I felt like I just danced through it. A really satisfying solve.
