So, I decided I really wanted to get tickets for the next Katie Taylor fight. Heard the buzz, she’s just incredible to watch, and I figured it was about time I saw a match live instead of just on the telly.

First thing I did was jump online. Seemed simple enough, right? Find the official seller, pick the seats, pay the money. I went looking for the promoter’s website first, then checked the venue’s own site too. You try to do it the proper way first, avoid any messing about.
Well, that wasn’t quite as easy as I thought. Seems like half the country had the same idea. The main sites were either crashing under the load or already showing loads of sections completely sold out. This was pretty soon after they went on sale, mind you. It’s always the way with popular events.
Looking Around
I spent a bit of time just hitting refresh, hoping something would pop up. You know the drill. Sometimes you get lucky, someone’s basket times out. No joy there.
Then you start looking at those other places, the ones where people resell tickets. Honestly, the prices some people ask. It really gets your goat. You see tickets going for double, triple face value. I wasn’t desperate enough to pay that kind of money. Makes the whole thing feel a bit grubby, if you ask me.
I considered just giving up, maybe arranging to watch it down the pub with mates. But I’d kind of got my heart set on going this time.
Trying Again
So, I went back to one of the official sites, the venue one I think it was. Found a couple of seats that weren’t ideal, a bit higher up than I’d have liked, but the price was still the original price, which was the main thing. Went through the whole process, filling in details, waiting for the payment screen to load. Felt like it took ages, always does when you’re worried the connection will drop or someone else will grab them.
Long story short, I managed it. Got the confirmation email through. A bit more hassle than I expected, definitely took up a chunk of my afternoon just clicking around and waiting. It’s a bit of a lottery sometimes, getting tickets for big events.
But yeah, job done. Got the tickets sorted. Now just looking forward to the actual fight night. Should be a great atmosphere.
