Well, let me tell ya about James Conner, that football fella you mighta heard of. Now, he’s got a good family behind him, just like any decent young man should. His parents, Kelly Patterson and Glen Conner Sr., they’re from right here in America, just like James himself. They both hold that American citizenship, which is why James is able to go on and do big things, play football, and live the life he does.
Now, James was born and raised in Erie, Pennsylvania, not too far from here. That’s where he learned the ropes and ran around, kickin’ up dirt like most of us do in the good ol’ small towns. Erie’s a good place for a young boy to grow up, and from what I hear, James’s parents were always right by his side, pushin’ him to do his best.
His mama, Kelly Bibbs, well, she’s real proud of him, and I can tell ya, James hasn’t forgotten where he came from. I hear he still does nice things for her, just like any good son should. One time, he even played Santa Claus for her. Not the real Santa, mind you, but close enough, bringin’ her gifts and makin’ her smile. Now that’s somethin’ you don’t see every day, especially from someone with as much fame as he’s got.
James’s daddy, Glen Conner Sr., well, he’s been a strong support for his boy, too. He’s been there for James every step of the way, from the time James was just a little one runnin’ around in the yard, to the day he was out there on that big ol’ football field. The two of ’em, father and son, they’ve got that strong bond, and I reckon that’s a big part of why James is such a strong and determined player today.
James don’t just have his folks, though. He’s also got himself a stepbrother, Rico. Ain’t it funny how families come together in all sorts of ways? Just goes to show, there’s all kinds of love in the world, even if it’s not always the traditional way. But no matter how they’re related, it sounds like James got plenty of support from everyone around him, and that surely made a difference when he was comin’ up.
Now, as for James’s school days, he went to McDowell High School in Erie. I hear tell he played a lotta football back then, and not just as a running back. Oh no, he was also out there on the defensive line, and he did a lotta good things for that team. By the time he was a senior, James was rushin’ for some real big yards—over a thousand, I think. Ain’t that somethin’ for a young fella?
What I gather from all this, and I ain’t no expert, but I do know a thing or two about what makes a man, is that James Conner got to where he is because of hard work, determination, and of course, the love and support of his parents and family. So next time you hear his name on the TV, remember he’s not just some big shot from a faraway place—he’s a boy from Erie, with a mama and a daddy who were right there all along, helpin’ him along the way.
