Well now, let me tell ya about this Lana gal, or should I say CJ Perry. She ain’t just any ol’ wrestler, no, she’s a real star. Born March 24, 1985, down in Gainesville, Florida, she’s the oldest of four young’uns. Her family, they come from a mix of Portuguese and Venezuelan roots, but she also spent a good part of her childhood over in the Latvian SSR. Yep, that’s a long way from home. But I reckon that gave her a lot of different ways of lookin’ at the world.
Now, you might know her better by her ring name—Lana. Ain’t that somethin’? That’s the name she went by in the WWE, where she really made a name for herself. She was known as “The Ravishing Russian,” even though she ain’t Russian at all. But you know, it’s all part of the showbiz, I suppose. She was paired up with Rusev, who you might know as Miro nowadays, but back then, he was the big, tough Bulgarian Brute. You could say they made quite the pair, the beauty and the beast, if you ask me.
Now, a lot of folks in the wrestling world couldn’t stop talkin’ about these two. They weren’t just a team in the ring, but they sure were somethin’ special outside of it too. They got married after bein’ engaged for about a year. That was back in 2019, and they tied the knot in Malibu, California, right by the beach. Ain’t that just the perfect spot for a wedding? It sounds real romantic, don’t it? A real fairy tale, just like one of them wrestling storylines, but this one was the real deal.
Speaking of fairytales, Lana and Rusev were together for a long time. They sure seemed to have a good thing goin’. But life, well, it’s never simple. After years of marriage, things took a turn, and this year, it came out that Lana and Rusev, or Miro now, had separated after seven years of wedded bliss. That’s a long time to be together, and I reckon it must’ve been a tough decision for both of ‘em. But life ain’t always easy, no matter how much you might want it to be. They both went their separate ways, and even though folks were disappointed, they gotta do what’s best for ’em, I suppose.
But if you look back, there were plenty of happy moments too. I mean, their wedding was one of those big ol’ celebrations that made headlines. They had some beautiful pictures taken, and it was clear that they were happy together. The whole wedding was a big deal, and they sure did look like a happy couple. But I guess not all things last forever, do they?
After her time in WWE, Lana didn’t just sit around waitin’. She moved on to AEW, where she went by the name CJ Perry once again. But, just like with WWE, her time at AEW wasn’t meant to last. She was let go earlier this year, which I imagine must’ve been tough for her. Not many folks know what it’s like to lose a job, especially when you’re used to bein’ in the spotlight like that.
It’s been a tough year for Lana, no doubt about it. First, the separation from Miro, and then losin’ her job at AEW. Seems like sometimes life throws more than you can handle all at once. But, well, that’s life for ya. You gotta take the punches and keep on goin’, even when things don’t seem too good. Folks will always remember her for what she did in the wrestling world, though. That’s for sure. No one forgets The Ravishing Russian and The Bulgarian Brute, even if they ain’t together no more.
So, that’s the story of Lana and Rusev, or CJ Perry and Miro, whichever way you wanna look at it. It’s a story full of love, success, and heartbreak. But ain’t that just like real life sometimes? You never know what’s comin’ next, but you just gotta keep pushin’ through.
