Alright, so you wanna know about this Josh Dobbs fella and his Wonderlic score, huh? Well, let me tell ya, this young man, he’s one smart cookie. Folks say he got a 29 on that test. Now, I ain’t never seen one of them Wonderlic tests myself, but from what I hear, that’s a pretty good score.
What’s this Wonderlic thing anyway? I guess it’s some kinda test they give these football players to see how smart they are. Like, how quick they can learn stuff and figure things out. They say if you get a high score, you’re good to go for the job. And football, well, that’s a job, ain’t it? A tough one at that.
This Josh Dobbs, he ain’t just good at football, he’s good at book learnin’ too. I heard he studied somethin’ called aerospace engineerin’. Sounds fancy, don’t it? He even went to one of them big colleges and got all A’s. Folks were sayin’ he’s too smart to play football! Can you believe that? Like bein’ smart is a bad thing. Shoot, back in my day, we’d be proud to have a smart fella on the team.
- He got a 4.0 GPA. That means all A’s, y’know.
- He worked at a place called Boeing. They make them airplanes.
- And that Wonderlic score, 29! Some other football players, they didn’t do so good.
Now, some folks say this other fella, Minshew, got a higher score, a 42 they say. But shoot, scores ain’t everythin’. Josh, he’s got the brains and the brawn. He can throw that football and he can figure out all them fancy plays they got. That’s what matters.
I heard tell that a good score on that Wonderlic is like a 26 or higher. And they say Josh’s score of 29 means he’s got an IQ of 135. That’s up there with the real smart folks, the top 1% they say. He coulda been a rocket scientist if he wanted, but he chose football. Guess he loves the game, just like my grandson loves playin’ in the yard, though he ain’t too bright, bless his heart.
Some other football players, they didn’t do so good on that test. I seen a list somewhere, and some of them fellas got scores like 10 or 17. Makes you wonder how they remember all them plays. But hey, maybe they got other talents. Maybe they can run real fast or catch that ball real good. Everythin’ ain’t about book learnin’.
There’s talk that this test ain’t that important. Some say it don’t tell you if a player gonna be good or not. But I reckon it tells you somethin’. It tells you if a fella can learn quick, and that’s important in football. They gotta learn new plays all the time, gotta adjust to what the other team is doin’. A smart player, he can do that better, I figure.
So, is Josh Dobbs too smart for football? I don’t think so. I think he’s just smart, period. And that’s a good thing. He can use his brains to be a better football player. He can read the defense, he can make the right calls, and he can lead his team. And that’s what counts, ain’t it? Whether he’s chuckin’ a football or buildin’ one of them space contraptions, smarts is always a good thing.
This here Wonderlic test, it might not be perfect, but it gives you an idea. And Josh Dobbs, well, his idea is a pretty smart one. He’s a good football player and he’s got the brains to back it up. So, let’s not go criticizin’ him for bein’ too smart. Let’s be thankful we got smart fellas playin’ the game. It makes it more interestin’, don’t you think?
And that’s all I gotta say about that Josh Dobbs and his Wonderlic score. He’s a smart fella, a good football player, and that’s good enough for me.
