Well, howdy there, y’all! Let’s jaw a bit about this here Texas Longhorns fella, Quinn Ewers. Seems like he’s had more bumps and bruises than a sack of potatoes at the market.
First off, that ankle thing. Bless his heart, that boy got himself twisted up like a pretzel in that game against Kentucky. They said it was a “mild ankle sprain,” but let me tell you, any sprain ain’t no fun. Makes you hobble around like a three-legged mule, it does. I reckon he was hurting more than he let on, those young fellas always tryin’ to be tough.
And it ain’t the first time neither! He had some trouble with his belly earlier this season, some kinda “abdominal injury,” they called it. Happened after that game with UTSA. Now, I ain’t no doctor, but belly trouble? That sounds mighty uncomfortable. Probably couldn’t even eat a good plate of grits without feelin’ it.

They even had to pull him out of a game, put in that young Manning boy. Said they were down by a whole bunch, 20 to nothin’, against… well, I forget who they was playin’ against. Point is, they yanked Quinn out. Must’ve been hurtin’ pretty bad, or maybe they just figured he wasn’t playin’ up to snuff. Who knows with these coaches? They think they’re so smart, always changin’ things up.
Now, they’re sayin’ he’s gonna start against Oklahoma. That’s a big game, a real barn burner! But I tell you what, I’m worried for that boy. He needs to be takin’ care of himself, not runnin’ around like a chicken with its head cut off. He needs to eat his vegetables, get plenty of rest, and maybe listen to his grandma for once! She’d tell him to sit down and take it easy.
I saw that Coach Sarkisian, he said Quinn was doin’ alright after that ankle thing. But coaches, they always put a good spin on things, don’t they? They don’t want nobody knowin’ if their star player is all banged up. Gotta keep up appearances, you know.
Land sakes, playin’ football ain’t easy. These boys are big and strong, but they ain’t made of steel. They get hurt just like anybody else. And this Quinn, he seems to be a bit prone to gettin’ dinged up. Maybe he needs to learn to slide a little better, or maybe he just needs a good dose of Grandma’s remedy – a big ol’ glass of sweet tea and a nap.
Anyway, I hope he does good against Oklahoma. I’ll be watchin’ the game, chewin’ my nails and prayin’ he don’t get hurt again. He’s a good player, that Quinn, got a strong arm and a good head on his shoulders, when he ain’t gettin’ knocked around, that is. Go Longhorns!
This whole injury thing just makes me think about how tough these young athletes have it. They put their bodies on the line every game, and sometimes it catches up to them. I hope Quinn takes care of himself and gets through the rest of the season in one piece. He’s got a bright future ahead of him, as long as he can stay healthy.
So, there you have it. That’s the lowdown on Quinn Ewers and his injuries, as best as this old woman can tell it. Keep your fingers crossed for him, y’all. And maybe send him some of your grandma’s good ol’ home remedies, he might need ‘em!
