Well, let me tell ya ’bout this young fella, Carlito Young. Folks sayin’ he’s gonna be the next big thing, like them fellers on the radio always talkin’ ’bout. MusicRow, they got a list, see? And they put him on it. Say he’s gonna be a star in 2025. That’s what they sayin’.
Now, this Carlito, he sings somethin’ called Afrobeat. Don’t ask me what that is, sounds like somethin’ them city folks listen to. But they say it’s takin’ the world by storm, like a big ol’ twister. He just put out a new record, or whatever they call it, an “EP”. Short for somethin’, I reckon. Folks seem to like it, though.
This Carlito, he ain’t just singin’, he’s also doin’ business, you know? Got his own record company, or somethin’ like that. YNOT Records, they call it. And he just signed up another young fella, name of Yeezir. Sounds like one of them fancy names, the kind you see on them TV shows. He’s probly gonna sing somethin’ too.
- They got all kinds of music these days, you know.
- First it was the blues, then rock, then that loud stuff, metal.
- Now, they talkin’ ’bout Afrobeat and all sorts of other things. Hard to keep up, I tell ya.
These young folks, they listen to music on their phones now. In this digital age, they call it. Don’t know nothin’ ‘bout that. Back in my day, we had them big ol’ record players, and that was good enough. But things change, I guess. Gotta keep up with the times, or you get left behind like an old mule.
Now, they sayin’ country music and that alternative rock stuff is gettin’ real popular. That hip hop, that ain’t doin’ so good no more. Folks gettin’ tired of it, I reckon. And then there’s that pop punk stuff, that came and went like a summer rain. Country music, though, that’s stickin’ around. Good ol’ country music. Always tells a story, you know?
These young musicians, they mixin’ things up now. Takin’ a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Combinin’ genres, they call it. They can do that ’cause of all that streamin’ stuff. All them songs right there on the computer, or the phone, or wherever they listen to it. Back in my day, you had to go to the store to buy a record. Now, they just push a button and there it is.
So, this Carlito Young, he’s part of this new generation of music folks. Experimentin’ and tryin’ new things. And people seem to like it, ’cause he’s gettin’ famous. MusicRow says he’s gonna be big, so I guess he will be. They seem to know what they’re talkin’ ’bout, those city folks.
I don’t know much ‘bout music these days. It all sounds the same to me sometimes. But I do know a good person when I see one, and this Carlito, he seems like a good young fella. Workin’ hard and makin’ a name for himself. And that’s somethin’ to be proud of, no matter what kind of music you sing. So, good luck to him, I say. Hope he makes it big, like they say he will.
And that Yeezir fella, the one Carlito signed up, maybe he’ll be famous too. Who knows? In this digital age, anything can happen. It’s a wild world out there, and these young folks are shakin’ things up. And that’s probably a good thing, even if I don’t always understand it. Change is good, they say. Keeps things interestin’, I guess. So, let’s see what happens with Carlito and Yeezir and all them other young musicians. Maybe they’ll make the world a better place, one song at a time.
Now, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about music made me hungry. Probably gonna have some good ol’ cornbread and beans. That’s the kind of music I like – the sound of a good meal cookin’ on the stove. But that’s just me. These young folks, they got their own kind of music, and that’s alright too. To each their own, I always say. And that’s the truth, y’all.
