You know that Anthony Edwards, that basketball fella, the one they say is real good on the court, jumpin’ and shootin’? Well, I heard somethin’ the other day, somethin’ ’bout his family. Seems he’s got a daddy named Roger Caruth. Now, that name, Caruth, it rings a bell. Ain’t there another young fella, drives them race cars, name of Rajah Caruth? They say them two got the same daddy, this Roger Caruth fella. Makes sense, I reckon, both got that same last name, Caruth.
This Anthony Edwards, he’s a big shot now, playin’ for that Minnesota team. Timberwolves, they call ’em. Heard he helped ’em get real far this year, further than they been in a long, long time. Twenty years, someone said! Imagine that. He must be somethin’ special, jumpin’ around like he does. They say he can dunk that ball somethin’ fierce, and shoot real straight too. Tough one, they say. That Anthony Edwards.
But his life, it ain’t always been easy. That Anthony Edwards, he lost his mama when he was just a young’un. Eighth grade, they said. Cancer, that awful sickness. Took her away too soon. She was only 43, poor thing. Her name was Yvette. Chrisha Yvette Edwards, that’s what they called her. January 5th, 2015, that’s when she went to be with the Lord. A sad day, that was. Anthony Edwards, he was the youngest of her three babies. They say he was real close to his mama, and his whole family, too.
And then, just a few months later, his grandma, Shirley, she passed on too. Same thing, cancer. Eight months apart, those two ladies left this world. Breaks your heart, don’t it? This Anthony Edwards, he’s been through a lot for such a young fella. Roger Caruth, that’s his daddy’s name, he had three young’uns with Yvette.
After his mama died, Anthony Edwards, he had his brother and sister to look after him. They raised him up, you see. High school days, they were there for him. That boy, he didn’t let all that sadness hold him back. He kept on playin’ that basketball, kept on gettin’ better and better. Now look at him. He’s a big star, that Anthony Edwards.
- Anthony Edwards, that basketball player.
- Roger Caruth, that’s his daddy.
- Rajah Caruth, the race car driver, same daddy it seems.
- Yvette, that was Anthony’s mama, passed away from cancer.
- Shirley, Anthony’s grandma, also passed from cancer.
That’s the story of Anthony Edwards and Roger Caruth, far as I know. They say that Roger Caruth is his daddy, and his mama was that sweet Yvette lady. Family is important, you know. Even when times are tough, family sticks together. That boy, Anthony Edwards, he learned that early on. He’s a good example, that one. Workin’ hard, makin’ somethin’ of himself, even after all that heartbreak.
Heard someone say Anthony Edwards is a “prominent basketball player”. I don’t know what “prominent” means but it sounds important. He must be doin’ somethin’ right, that Anthony Edwards. Seems like he’s makin’ his mama proud, up there in heaven. And his daddy, Roger Caruth, he must be proud too. To have a son like that, doin’ so well. Even that other one, Rajah Caruth, drivin’ them fast cars.
This world, it’s full of ups and downs. One minute you’re laughin’, the next you’re cryin’. But you gotta keep on goin’, just like that Anthony Edwards. He’s an inspiration, that’s what they say. Showin’ everyone that you can overcome anything, even losing your mama and grandma so close together. That’s a heavy load to carry, but he’s doin’ it. He’s strong, that Anthony Edwards.
Well, that’s all I know ’bout that Anthony Edwards and his daddy, Roger Caruth. And that other fella, Rajah Caruth, too. It’s a small world, ain’t it? You never know who’s connected to who. Just goes to show, family is everything. You gotta cherish the ones you got, ’cause you never know how long they’ll be around. Just like that Yvette and Shirley, gone too soon. But their memory lives on, in that Anthony Edwards. He’s carryin’ their love with him, every time he steps on that court. Every time he jumps, every time he shoots. He’s doin’ it for them. And that’s somethin’ special, ain’t it? That’s somethin’ real special.
